My name is Dave, and along with my partner Jane and our sidekick, Charlie the Wheaten Terrier, we’re the “Dave & Dog” double act behind We Walk Woofs, one of the leading pet care blogs in the UK.
We’ve always loved and owned animals, and over the years we’ve shared our lives with all kinds of pets, including Jack Russells, cats (lots of cats!), horses, stick insects, fish, and bearded dragons. We’ve even had the privilege of caring for some truly exotic animals, including barn owls, honey bears, and coatimundis.
After a thirty-year career in the property industry (Dave and Jane - not Charlie!), we realised we enjoyed being outdoors far more than working from an office. And so, We Walk Woofs was born in 2017. Initially, we offered dog walking and pet care services to other pet parents, and this side of the business took off like a rocket - we soon found ourselves very, very busy… until Covid.
When Covid hit and we all went into lockdown, we had to hang up the leads for a couple of months. During this time, I started researching and writing blog posts, while Charlie entertained himself trying all kinds of dog foods and treats - thankfully offset by the many long walks he was taken on! I realised I genuinely enjoyed the research and writing, and Charlie absolutely loved the constant product testing (mainly food and treats!). Together, we continued to grow We Walk Woofs with an ever-expanding range of informational articles, product reviews, and - with Charlie’s expert help - dog food reviews.
Everything you’ll find on We Walk Woofs from our guides and product reviews to our general chit-chat is created with one simple goal:

Charlie has never been into balls but loves to play hide and seek around the house 🫣🫣
Charlie has a girlfriend called Molly (she's the one on the right in the picture)
When Charlie was younger he used to chase foxes around the land behind our house. He never hurt them and they seemed to enjoy it as much as he did and would chase him as much as he chased them! He would come back filthy and shattered and once I found him with just the tip of his tail sticking out of a fox hole!!
